First Info Tech Wins Department of Homeland Security Contract
On September 27, 2013, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) awarded First Info Tech a contract valued at $7.8M to provide support services to the DHS Information Security Office (ISO), under the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO). Under the DHS contract, First Info Tech will provide a full range of compliance and oversight support services to the DHS ISO Compliance and Technology (C&T) Division, including tooling support, performance scorecard reporting, compliance reviews, and audit remediation support.
The C&T Division works with DHS Components to achieve compliance with federal mandates (e.g. Federal Information Security Management Act (FISMA), Office of Management and Budget (OMB) Circulars) and all applicable laws, directives, policies, and directed actions in order to provide the methodologies, tools, guidance, and subject matter expertise that ensure DHS Component’s information security programs can meet federal compliance and reporting requirements. The C&T Division is responsible for the collection, validation/verification, and reporting of information security metrics across the Department. The C&T Division publishes an annual Information Security Performance Plan establishing goals and metrics for each fiscal year. The Performance Plan is based on past experience, feedback from DHS Components, and potential new metrics.
